Assassin's Creed Introduces Unexpected AoT Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected partnership that defies traditional predictions, Ubisoft has revealed an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, including free additional story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Mission Uncovered
According to the official announcement, "A mysterious meeting pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where rumors of prohibited rituals and monstrous transformations reverberate through the shadows." The narrative features a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who charges the pair with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a clandestine group.
The questline centers on "peculiar experiments and a terrifying adversary" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Locations and Changes
The preview highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview ends with a striking sequence showing a character, presumably the captive, changing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Prizes and Additional Content
Players who finish the adventure will obtain an exclusive katana in addition to multiple items concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps mount
Third Free Story Update
This patch also adds the game's latest free story content, titled "The Mystery." This humorous mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange distinctive abilities: Naoe reveals a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.

This represents hardly the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with famous anime series. The series earlier featured a 2020 crossover story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Moreover, Valhalla unofficially contained a quest that obviously nodded to the popular series One-Punch Man.
