The second-hand marketplace Users Express Displeasure Regarding Sizing Modifications
Vinted users have been reacting angrily after an update resulted in listings displaying inaccurate size information.
This online marketplace has updated its sizing categories for women's and children's clothes failing to inform all users about the change.
Online Platforms Response
Numerous buyers and vendors are expressing on platforms claiming that product pages now present a modified sizing category compared to what was initially listed because of the remapping.
Vinted explained the new system was more in line with similar services.
It has advised users to review their products and adjust the sizing manually if necessary, which has left users frustrated.
Size Classification Changes
Previously, the sizing featured numerical and alphabetical indicators, like S/8 or M/10.
The revised method features an alphabetical indicator and numerical range for example S/UK 8-10.
With some products, the measurements have been reclassified - such as a large size was formerly size 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.

Frankie Bridger, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling".
"Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," which is what Vinted now does.
Another user, located in Scotland, stated items she posted on Vinted with size 14 labels were displaying on the service as larger sizing 20-22.
"Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they're going to be very disappointed," she explained.
Manual Updates
A different user, based in Derby, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the measurements for "each individual item".
"For me this is particularly frustrating, because of my ongoing medical condition and selling on Vinted has been paramount after experiencing income reduction," she stated.
Platform Context
The app has more than 100 million users, with 18 million British users.
It has emerged as a preferred choice versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop.
This is not the initial instance where an unanticipated change on the platform has faced criticism: earlier, the platform withdrew an update regarding delivery choices after backlash from users.
